Can mormans have non-morman friends?

My neighbor is lds and we started to become good friends, and all of a sudden without warning after i told her my hubby was starting school to become a pastor for a non-morman church she cut off our frienship? So i was wondering if maybe lds can only have lds friends?

  • Yes, they can however you will find some are so engrossed in their beliefs that they feel having non-LDS friends might lead to bad stuff so they wont associate.

  • Sure they can, I'm not mormon and I have friends who are. She may feel uncomfortable, just give her some time.

  • Yep. I'm Mormon and the vast majority of my friends are not. That's very odd that she would cut off your friendship so suddenly - I hope she comes around!

  • One of my very good friends is LDS and I am not. I would say that her choice is probably a personal one and not one forced by her religion.

  • Sure they can. Instead of speculating though, why don't you talk to her and ask her why the change all of a sudden?

  • That was a personal choice made by your mormon 'friend', not a rule.. My sister is mormon, I am non-denominational Christian.. She likes me just fine..
