What do YOU do that's Earth Friendly?

SO I use cloth diapers exclusively - wipes, too - I wash in the washer with detergent that is free of dyes and perfumes, no fabric softener - and line dry.

I dry most laundry on the line but what I can't, I'm about to switch to natural dryer balls instead of fabric softeners.

I think I'm about to switch to unpaper towels (I don't use many anyhow) and cloth napkins (that's a new one for me, though).

I'm not sure I'm ready to be green in the area of toilet paper or feminine supplies, though. LOL

What do you do that's green?

I need to start using reusable shopping bags, and just forget to take them. :(

  • I recycle, shop for eco friendly products, we plant our own garden, use the cold cycle on my washing machine.

  • I make my own chemical free household cleaners, laundry detergent, lotion, shampoo, deodorant. We have a compost pile. We grow as much of our own fruits and veggies that we can and support local farmers. We use cut up old t-shirts and receiving blankets and don't buy paper towels, napkins or baby wipes. I use cloth menstrual pads, we buy used as much as possible. We re-purpose things (this week I made a tote bag out of magazines pages). I dry laundry on the lines, indoors and out. If we paint we use low VOC paint. I use water based nail polish. Recycle, including not widely recycled things at: (they pay you to recycle things)!

  • recycle, reusable shopping bags, recycle plastic bags, all-natural cleaners, reusable water bottles, natural light when possible, and and i'm sure there's some more? I just don't see the point of over-usage, over-spending, and being wasteful. I don't know if my little part is saving the earth, but for me it's being responsible.

  • Every time I peddle and am forced not to be allowed to ride in a car like normal people. Eco conscious only long after the point. I love being trim rather than plump, but I was already doing this through the slump. I love being pretty but that was not the case, it was more of one knowing I did not need to deteriorate. Not only to dis-allow those from depreciate my human spirit, I've had to fight fire, with fire. Hope you will all forgive Yogi the Bear and me, because i needed Dear O'Yogi to bear this burden heaped upon me that societies were pushing. Forgive me ladies, mom's, and all while being in this painful situation. We all had to find a seat in the musical chairs of life.

  • I recycle anyting I can, and do a compost for our garden. I was amazed at the reduction of garbage once I started the recycle program. I don't use paper towels. I always save and recycle the bags from the grocery store.

  • I make my own cleaners and laundry detergents, so not only am I cutting down on toxic chemicals in the environment, I am saving hundreds of plastic bottles going into the land fill. I rarely wash clothes in hot water and fold as soon as the dryer is done (NO IRONING!). I can't use a line for drying because of allergies. We leave our thermostat where most people would find it uncomfortable. We just put on an extra sweatshirt, or remove as much as is legal in the summer. lol I have used cloth napkins for a long time because I love them & use PT's sparingly. If I forget my resuble shopping bags, I recycle the bags. I squeeze every last drop of product out of bottle & cut open tubes. I support local farmers and grow some of my own vegetables and fruits. We just started a compost pile a few weeks ago. I never go on just one errand, I bundle them together so I'm saving gas and usually only running around 1 day/week.

  • I use my coffee grounds to mulch my acid loving plants in the yard. I compost and use old newspapers in stacks instead of mulch liner. I try to cook a few one pot meals a week to minimize water/soap usage from several. I also try to keep up with requesting companies not send junk mail and figure I save a few trees a month this way.

  • I recycle, use cloth bags, buy from thrift shops (clothing and furniture and kitchen stuff), we have replaced all regular light bulbs with eco friendly ones, we wash all clothes in cold water, we cut up shirts and old towels for rags and dish clothes, we are going to buy very very soon energy efficient kitchen large kitchen appliances, and probably a few more things I just can't think of at the moment. We could do more I'm sure, but we do some.
