  • Melt different candybars in the smallest diapers you can buy. (I don't know how disposable diapers will do in a microwave, so be careful.) Each candy bar goes in a different diaper. Number each diaper. Have the guests smell the mess in the diaper and guess which candy bar it is. The person that gets the most correct guess, wins.

  • @ dustbunny: i found melting the bars before you put it on the diaper works.
we had a halloween carnival baby shower. we decorated the backyard with cardboard walls painted in colorful stripes like carnival tents, got some decorations from the dollar store from halloween, we had pumpkin painting, baby bottle ring toss, a fortune teller, and face painting. i made tons of goodies, pies cakes etc. we had a diaper raffle (highly recommend, prizes can be gift baskets, handmade goodies, gift certificates to a movie) the kids got goody bags. it was a great turn out, by making most of the stuff ourselves it was better in price. check out they have party packages there and if you buy in bulk its pretty inexpensive. and it is great for stealing ideas from

  • Put some sharpies and newborn diapers in a basket at the front door and have guests write funny jokes, anecdotes, comments, suggestions, advice on the diapers. That way, when mom and dad are up at 2 am with yet another feeding, they at least have something to make them smile (you aside from the bundle of joy who is keeping them up!). Hang them from clothes pins across the livingroom or decoration and something for everyone to read. Make a diaper cake...super cute decorations. Look it up on utube.

  • What I did for my bosses baby shower, we went to the dollar store and bought all kinds of plates, decorations etc really cheap. Then I went and bought those easy stick and removable hooks and I took a string and made a clothes line out of it and hung my baby gift (clothes) on the line and it looked awesome. You can take baby bottles and use them as vases for flowers or filled with water they could be balloon weights.

Games I have played name the baby food (take the labels off baby food jars), guess the mess in the diaper (same as dustbunny's post), see who can drink from the baby bottle the fastest, if the baby isn't born yet you could do a baby poll (each guest can guess the date, time, weight, boy/girl, length, etc)

  • dollar tree has some baby shower decorations. For some games all you need is pens & paper, such as: how many words can you make out of the baby's name, or pop quiz about the mom, etc.

  • its really cute to hang a string across the room and take all the baby clothes and get baby clothes pins and clip them up. puts them on display for everyone to see, and no wrapping paper or bags needed.
