Speech language pathology??? has anyone pursued a career in that field?

  • not I but it's a great field! ill tell you why....i have learned in my "individuals with disabilities" class that
    the number of babies born with a genetic defect is increasing.
    many intelectually disabled children and adults have speech impedements, not to say that all do.
    is this a career you think you might be interested in?
    in the future we will need more speech and language pathologists.

  • hi liz4life. yes it is a career i am interested in. 2 of universities where i live offer the masters program..... since my bachelors degree has nothing to do speech pathalogy..... i would need to take the pre-requisites first. before i could begin to take the graduate levels courses. it will take about 4 years to complete the program.... but i think it would be worth it in the long run
