  • I read at about 4 weeks is the best time to start. It's been so long since I had a kitten I don't remember when I started them on the box. The only remaining cat I have was about 8 weeks old when I rescued her.

  • Most of the kittens I've had were litter box trained by 6 weeks. When they get big enough to start running around, start putting them in the litter box. I've found that it helps to pick up their poop (if the mom has stopped cleaning it up) and put it in a fresh litter box, then putting the kitten in there. Sounds weird and gross, but it worked for us when one of the mommy cats ran away before the kittens were weaned and the like.
