  • Your body can tell exactly how much your baby needs. It also produces a substance called IGG that provides antibodies that pass on the mother's immunity to the baby for the first two months or so.

  • Because that's the way our bodies are made. That's why we have breasts and nipples.

  • Our bodies while we are pregnant are making the perfect mix for our babies. Each baby is different, so therefore all breast milk is a little different. Same stuff in it, some just has more of one thing or another depending on your baby. :)

  • Becuase that is what nature designed to give our children. They are still trying to mimic it, but since they find new things in breastmilk allthe time I doubt they will ever make an artificial milk that even comes close. Would you consider formula the best or ideal food for a kitten or puppy? Then why should humans be any different?

  • because you pass on immunities to your baby through your breastmilk. AND BREASTMILK DOESN'T STAIN!!! That alone was reason enough for me to choose to breastfeed

  • There are hundreds of reasons as to why it is best for baby. Its specially formulated for your baby, and changes as your baby grows. Babies who are bf have a lower occurance of many many many types of diseases that can show up in child hood and as an adult.. like cancer, diabetes, and several forms of autoimmune disorders. Children who are breastfed on average when compared to formula babies are sick less. In fact formula babies (again on average) have twice the medical bills then that of their bf peers. BM has over 120 components that cannot be copied such as antibodies that are passed to baby to help protect them. A child's immune system fully matures between the age of 4-7, breast milk helps protect till baby can protect itself. Plus breastfeeding protects mom as well from diabetes, cancer, etc.

There have been many studies that show that breastfed babies are less likely to die of SIDs as well.

  • It is mild and natural. Truthfully if I look at two babies 1 being BF and the other FF, just by looking at the child I can tell what it eats. I believe that formula aids in children being over weight. Just this past year the formula companies had a recall on formula due to bug parts possibly entering the formula when processed. Moms had to run to the store in the middle of the night when they realized that the formula they had been feeding their baby has been recalled. BM will never be recalled. Babies are at higher rist of death due to sids during the 1st year of birth and I want my baby to have the best possible chance that he or she can have.

BF can be hard and stressful at first but once you get the hang of it, there are no bottles to clean, no running to the kitchen in the middle of the night to make a bottle. Just crab baby and sit back.
