  • I have lupus, so I cannot use the tanning beds or the real sun to tan. I figure if they tell me both are equally detrimental to my disease, they probably are not good for anyone.

  • I don't tan, I have fair skin and burn easily. I don't even go to tanning salons because I heard that tanning booths UVA rays are just as harmful--as much as 3 times more powerful than sun rays . There's just as much chance of developing skin cancer from tanning booths as there is getting a normal sun tan. And I quit using tanning lotions because it always leaves orange streaks.

  • I'm pasty and proud of it!
No tanning beds for me :)
I do have a brother who had a tanning bed though, his doctor recommended tanning to help with his psoriasis (he's finally found a medication that clears it pretty well so he doesn't have to tan anymore)

  • Girl, I tanned for twenty years! Although I always covered my face when I tanned, I do have the damage on my upper chest area. At this time, I am being treated by a dermatologist, but tanning is totally out for me now that I am in my 40's! I spray tan if I want color now.
