What all should I bring on the plane for a 4 month old?

We're going to be in transit pretty much the entire day! I don't want to forget anything important..

  • If the baby uses a bottle or a pacy make sure you bring that because they usually cant pop their ears like we can when we ascend and descend so when you take off have him/her suck on a pacy or bottle til your in the air or on the ground completely. Bring a couple toys and books and I would even pack a mp3 player with some soothing music etc.

  • Bring at least one change of clothes (two pairs of pants might even be better) - my daughter never fails to have a diaper leak when we travel. I agree with the previous poster about a bottle or nurse -- when landing and taking off. It helps a LOT. Pack a full diaper bag - diapers, wipes, a changing pad.. teething tablets if the baby is teething already?

  • I'm a former Flight Attendant and I fly a lot iwht my three children between Europe and California about twice a year.

Please don't worry about ears. This is highly overrated and has never been a problem when we fly. Have a doctor look in his ears before leaving.

I always had a car seat. It's the only way to fly safely with a baby.

A good baby carrier! Avoid uncomfortable front packs like the Bjorn. A wrap, sling or pouch will be much more useful inflight.
