Why do black people...

call their kids 'fat-fat?'

i hear so many of them. where did that nickname come from? lol.

  • lol... its like calling a child BIG girl or BIG boy.. if the kid is chunky its just a nick name.. do i think its right? Not really there are better names out there then fat fat

  • I have never heard of it. I did call my DD "fatty" when she was a baby because she was wicked fat & cute (she is a bean pole now)

  • I hear a lot of Mexican people calling their kids "gordo". In fact at my son's football practice one parent actually confronted another parent for calling his son that. He basically told the nosy guy to show it.

  • Maybe its like a regional thing. I live in Baltimore. I hear it all the time, from lots of different families.

  • Thats not just with black people. I know of a few fafats...not all are black. Its a nic name like how alot of hispanics call their dd Mama and sons dad..or Gorrdy... how some call t heir kids sis or whatever. And its not always cause the kid is chunky or fat. Sometimes its formed from their name. Fafat, nene, madi...etc

  • It's not just a black thing, i'm white and call my dd fats, or fatso. My grandpa's mom is called fatso as well, i don't even know her real name ''/ all my black friends i know dont call there children fat fat, except one.
