Anyone else suffer from spring hayfever or allergies??

I do! I seem to forget it every year... until spring rolls around, and then I'm in absolute hell until around June! Nothing seems to help, beyond spending a fortune on allergy meds... and even THOSE are iffy! And considering money is extremely tight right now, allergy meds are totally out of the question anyway!
For me, it's a constant sniffly nose, which is almost impossible to remedy with Kleenex... and runny, watery eyes.

Does anyone else suffer from this? How do you deal with it?

  • I certainly do! As soon as the first trees start blooming, I start having the usual symptoms. In Missouri, the first tree to bloom is the red maple which started last week, to be followed by elms and red cedar, then all the rest. All in all, I would chose sneezing over frostbite any day!

  • Claritin helps me. But when the cotton wood fuzzies start to fly, I have to stay inside until they're done (even w/ Claritin) Dont ya just wanna hug the guy who invented lotion tissues?! -lol :)

  • Forgot to mention what I use for allergies. I use generic Claritin and Alaway eyedrops for the itchy eyes, also sometimes use suphedrine (like pseudophedrine but not regulated). They help some but not completely.

  • Yeap, from February to December. I live on Zyrtec D...it has to have the pseudoephedrine in it or it doesn't work. My son is getting them too.
