  • My son's doctor says 12 months. However, my son is 17 months and still has a bottle once a day. I know I need to wean him from it, and I'm in the process, but it's been really tough. I'd say to do it as early as you can because I think it only gets harder to get rid of it the longer they have it.

  • Just want to add that he still says to give formula but only in a cup after 10 months because of oral development.

  • Lovingsah's docter is right, 12 month is best to start thr transition. Better for you as well as better for your little one theeth. Mine is also 17 months ols and not on a bottle for some time now. Good luck both of you.

  • I've always had a very strict policy - nothing but formula in a bottle. And we typically quit both at a year. With the foster baby I have now, though, she was removed from an alcoholic mom who breastfed while drinking/drunk - only weighs 16 lbs - and emotionally isn't ready and physically still needs to formula... SO for this one, we're not coming off at 12 months. Gosh breastfeeding was so much easier - lol.
