  • For me its either a business, Govt Entity or even just a person who gives something to other people, those people would be the Benefactors.

  • someone who gives financial support. A college kid may have a benefactor who pays her tuition.

  • It can be used that way. Not typically however. It refers more to someone who is getting nothing in return for their investment and as I know the term, a sugar daddy gets something for his money.
