Why is the government increasing cost of college for our children?? When our world's leaders DIE, our children will be running this country. And guess what? Because of our current government, our children won't have the education to do so.

  • What does the government have to do with the tuition at your local college? did Obama write the college a letter asking them to raise tuition? It is true there are less student loans available right now.

  • Since when does the government control tuition at private or state schools? When the cost of maintaining the buildings and equipment rises, tuition rises. It's inflation, just like everything else.

  • Sounds like we should put more of an effort towards making our kids smarter so they can get scholarships. Either that or inject them with HGH so they are good athletes lol

"The provision ends what Obama called a long-standing "sweetheart deal" for banks in federally guaranteed student loans."

"The money is to be channeled into the Pell Grant program, invested in community colleges and historically black colleges and used to make student loans more affordable by capping repayments at 10 percent of discretionary income starting in 2014."

  • The University of CA has raised tuition fees 39 % since September 2009- As a parent of a current student, , it's still very affordable- and a wonderful education-

  • Don't be sorry, but understand tuition costs are not the government's fault.

You're going to have to get help...see what scholarships she can apply for, what grants, what loans. If you are low income, she will probably be able to get plenty of help.

  • Yes we are low income. She has been searching but most from fastweb say she needs to be currently enrolled in H.S. to apply =/

That doesn't change tuition, though. Actually, if tuition goes up, it increases the amount you can get from grants and loans - they work off a percentage, not a dollar limit.
