Anyone feel like they r turing into their mother?

Not regarding pareting skills but other behaviors?

Some reason I see myself getting lazy, over stressed, and following other bad patterns. Like I never wanted to be like my mom but wondering if I focused to much energy on not being her I am her in a way?

  • Lol. I completely understand what you mean. I also thought when I was younger that I would be nothing like her and yet here I am, a lot like her and not just in parenting ways. For example the fact that I recently realized I ask why after every question just like her, never really giving a yes or no answer when asked a question, just like her. Lol. I notice these things as I get older.

  • I have tried so hard NOT to be my mother I have gone completely off the other end. I cannot yell, I accept almost everything my children say, I do not make them do a bunch of chores. They are great kids, thank goodness, but because by mother was a crazy, psychotic drunk I refuse to repeat any patterns that even closely resemble those of hers. I am not sure if they will benefit from this or not.

  • I can definatly see myself turning into my mother, everyone else including my mother can see it too lol....but I don't mind, in fact I'm super juiced since my mother always has been and always will be my hero. She is one of the strongest, bravest, most courageous people I know and I think I will be blessed indeed to be even half the woman she is. =)

  • Yeah, in some ways. Don't get me wrong, my mother has always been strong willed and I do find myself doing or saying things like her. It's scary sometimes isn't it? LOL!

  • In many ways, I find myself very much like my mother. There are many ways that we could not be more different - but I laugh sometimes to find myself being just like her. And sometimes I laugh at her and call her by my grandmother's name. Typically, she is like her mother on things that annoyed her about my grandmother, which I find quite humorous :)
