How can I get my 2 year old to stop coming into my bed in the middle of the night?

My son is now 2 and 1/2 and in a toddler bed. He keeps getting up in the middle of the night and crawling into my bed. How do I help him sleep in his own bed through the night?

  • man that's a tough one. I had a situation where my hubby and i shared a room with my 2yr old and 1 yr old. Sometimes you just have to firmly say, "this is mommy's bed not yours, you have a bed and you need to sleep in it." They may cry but they need to know that they have to sleep in their own bed. You might feel bad for it but its best for them.

  • Put a gate up at his door. And if he wakes you up, just calmly remind him that he is to sleep in his bed NOT yours

  • Being consistent with taking them back to their bed each time is truly the key. But there are some more tips for keeping them in their beds at www.toddlerbedandmore.com/toddler_tips.html

  • Toddler101-How long would you say it would probably take if I put him back every night?
