Blood pressure

133/87 how do I get this lower without medications? Any good remedies will be helpful I dont want to take any medications.

  • that is not too high, probably not even high enough for medications anyway. exercise, lots of water, and cutting back your sodium intake should help bring it to a more healthy level.

  • Exercise helps as does a balanced diet. You can also add meditation to your day to help relax and centre yourself.

  • There is some evidence that the supplement CoQ10 may help to reduce high blood pressure.
    Researchers concluded that garlic powder supplement may be of clinical use in patients with mild high blood pressure.
    The herb hawthorn is often used by traditional herbal practitioners for high blood pressure.
    Preliminary studies suggest that fish oil may have a modest effect on high blood pressure.
    Changing your diet is an important part of lowering high blood pressure. Choose low sodium foods.
    Also exercise and yoga.
    Weight can also cause high blood pressure.

  • Also, participating in your favorite hobby can help lower your blood pressure as well. Crocheting, quilting, needle point, painting, etc.

  • Walking several times a week helps keep mine in check. My doc won't treat unless consistently higher than 140/90.

  • Eliminate all salt from your diet. Lose weight, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, exercize. If that does not lower your blood pressure then it's a simple case of bad genetics. High Blood Pressure is hereditary. If you cannot lower it by doing those things within 6 months, you NEED to take blood pressure meds. It is good that you are aware of this problem since many choose to ignore it and the result is kidney damage. My Dad is currently on dialysis because he went too long without the proper medication to lower his blood pressure. I am very careful myself as a result. GL

  • Celestial Seasonings has a herbal tea named Tension Tamer, and it works! If you drink 1 to 2 cups, it really helps calm your nerves, which in part can lower your blood pressure. Also, reducing the amt of salt you ingest helps, as well as cutting out caffeine.
