Traveling with a 7 month old

I am getting ready to take a short trip with my almost 7 month old. It is just an overnight trip to see some friends. It is a four hour drive one way. We'll go down one day and come back the next.

Have any tips or suggestions to make our trip go smoothly?

  • Keep a close eye on the diaper situation. Be prepared to stop (trip may take as much as an extra hour). Toys, toys, toys - have a few so you can switch it up. Music can be helpful. Since you are driving go ahead and bring more than you need. It is better to have brought something you didn't need than wishing you had something you left behind. Only other advice is to try and stop worrying and have some fun - you deserve it.

  • stop for rests, things to play with, special banklet or a toy, will probley if lucky will just sleep most of the way for you. Have food or snacks for the both you. Should be fine.

  • Try to travel during nap time if possible. Also take more formula (if bottle fed) than you think you will need in case you get caught in traffic, etc. Have fun!
