What do you tell your teenager that thinks they know everything?

  • I told mine when they were that age that they might want to consider moving out now while their so smart and move home when stupid sets in, lol

  • I would not argue with them but I would find a subtle way to test their knowledge. You could ask them how they'd handle a situation then ask them questions about the scenario regarding consequences they may not have considered. I used to ask my smarty pants teens "Ok, then how would you handle this?" They would figure out quickly they didn't have all the answers!

  • When I was your age I thought the same thing - it was only after I GREW-UP did I realize that at your age I knew NOTHING! Trust me, if you think you know everything then tell me everything yoou know so I can go on Jeopardy and win a lot of money!

  • I say "yes your right" and chuckle while I tell them that since they are over 20 yrs younger then I am they have to be right and they must know everything..yep they are always right......

    and guess what after I tell them that they get confused and dumbfounded...this really gets reaction, lol
