How do you eat 10 fruits and vegetables a day?

The recommended amount of fruits and vegetables your supposed to eat daily is 8-10 servings. I do eat some, but 10! I'd be full.

  • It's not nearly as much as it sounds, for starters. A serving of fruit/veggies is only 1/2 cup, unless leafy greens which would be 1 cup. If anything some days I'm tempted to eat too many and wind up with tummy troubles.

    Ex:

    Breakfast: 1 banana (2 servings), yogurt w/ 1/2 cup blueberries (1 serving) = 3
Lunch: 2 cups salad (2), chicken, croutons, dressing, cheese, whatever, 1 apple (2)=4
    Dinner: fish, 1 c broccoli (2), 1 baked potato (2)=4

    Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

  • I'm a vegetarian so that's about all I ever eat on any day. Definitely not a problem for me.

  • I don't. I love them but I'm very sensitive to carbs/sugar so I rarely eat fruit and I only eat about 4 servings a day of veggies. If I wasn't sensitive, I could easily eat that much.

  • Wow! No. I get like 3-4.
8-10 would have you eating like 3 per meal. How do you do that?

  • well if you have a salad, count each veggie in it as one serving. a serving is only a half cup so large fruits or veggies may count as two servings, but yeah, there's no way I can eat that much and still get in 5 -6 servings of whole grains another 3-4 of dairy and 2-3 off protein and keep it all under 1200 calories as I am trying to lose weight.
