3 Bumps

Would it bother you if your son did this? and would it matter what his age was?

We brought our 3 year old son to Build-A-Bear - he HAD to have a pink bear with a pink dress and named it Max which is his name.. would that bother you? I was fine about it but dad was upset..

  • Nope, not at all. Maybe he likes the color pink.

Pink, after all, is not gender specific. It's just a color.

Also, my 3 year old daughter likes to play with GI Joes. I think that when born a boy, parents tend to only get 'boy' things, the same goes with girls. So, when given an option, the child chooses the toys that they don't normally get to play with because they are a mystery.

  • My husband often wears pink dress shirts and striped polos that contain the color pink, and I assure you he is all man. Tell that to your husband. It takes a very manly man to wear the pink! Your son is just preparing to become the manliest of men. Your husband just doesn't understand it yet!!!

  • Since he is 3 I don't see a problem with him wanting a pink bear in a pink dress.

  • My husband would not have allowed it. I would have thought it strange and amusing but would have let him get it.

  • It wouldn't bother me. He's 3. He will laugh at that one day. Now, my husband wouldn't let my ds do that.

  • I loved JadesMom's answer. The pink bear isn't what he normally gets to play with and its something new and different. I wouldn't be concerned in the least bit!!!
