I just started feeding my son rice cereal(once a day). He poops are different...is this normal?

  • Yes, it's normal. Any time you try something new it will change. Baby poop changes often. Just watch out for constipation with the rice cereal. If he gets constipated then try barley. I also found that oats makes my son gassy.

  • very normal, if your baby starts getting constipated from eating it ask your pedi. if it would be okay to mix it with a little apple prune juice.

    And keep in mind that rice cereal can "plug up the works" while barley can help get things moving again. That can be useful to know if he gets diarrhea or constipation in the future.

  • Yes, my dds bms changed after starting rice cereal. She went from one poopy diaper to around 4.
