  • argumentative-opinionated

That's the only one I can really turn into a positive, and I want to add that I don't find persistent to be a negative word to begin with. However, you could also say strong-willed. :)

    Selective Hearing - daydreamer
    Persistent - is this negative?

  • Disobedient ~ willful or strong-willed

    Selective hearing ~ focused

I think persistent is actually the more positive word for stubborn. :-)

Argumentative ~ Passionate (my DH says this about me and a few members of my family. He likes to say we're passionate about being passionate. lol)

Hyperactive or wild ~ I try to say ENERGETIC instead

I'd have to think about these two:

I'll also add one more I like to say differently:
shy ~ cautious, slow to warm up, observant, introspective (sometimes goes w/ shyness, not always)

I'd have to go back and look, but the Raising Your Spirited Child has some examples of this kind of thing. The same traits can be negative or positive depending on how extreme they are.
