If I am sick is my baby sick?

I am 24 weeks pregnant, and have a horrible cold, no fever but a wicked cough and congestion. I am on antibiotics but I was just wondering if I am sick, does that mean the baby is sick?

  • lol, no it doesnt =) just take care of yourself the same way you would if you weren't pregnant. lots of rest, fluids, bland foods, lots of vitamin c and iron. your baby probably knows that you aren't feeling well but he/she is still feeling 100% fine =)

  • I never thought about it but I would guess no. Even though you are connected even your blood streams are separate...

  • It builds up the child's immunities toward illness so it's a good thing

  • No sweetie. You may be feeling icky but your baby is safe in that amniotic fluid. Take lots rest and be nice to yourself.
