  • Why not bf for a year--but most babies can use a sippy by 6 months. Good luck.

  • Are you currently BFing this baby? I'm a little confused. Is this just the amount of time you've decided in advance. I think you should BF as long as you & baby are still happy doing it. If your already BFing and planning on weaning soon: As you gradually drop a breast feeding session every few days -replace that regular bf session with a bottle of formula. You should stop bfing gradually by weaning the baby off- not suddenly. Honestly some babies don't like to switch to formula if they have been recieving breast milk for that long- you should consult your ped about this as well. Best of luck!

  • Why not just breastfeed for at least one year? That way, you only have to transition from BM to cow's milk rather than adding formula into the transition. To answer your question, most babies can easily use a sippy cup by nine months.
