? about slow cooked pork tenderloin

I have a 4lb pork tenderloon(family is coming into town) and Potatoes, baby carrots, onions, and celery all on top of it. My question is how much water do i put in? does it have to be up to the veggies or just a little bit on the bottom?

  • Well i only cooked it once, but when i did I filled water to cover it and it ended up being soggy. Im guessing just to cover vegggies is enough.

  • When I make it I put the veg on the bottom, then any seasonings, the meat on top. I don't use water but I will use a can of condensed soup (like cream of celery) and a jar of beef gravy over the top of it all. It cooks down and makes a good gravy.

  • LOL i was reading something online saying i had to put water an inch over the pork..i was thinking it sounded off so i wanted to ask you fine ladies!

    Is there anything else i can use besides water for some flavor or will be flavorfull?

  • Only about an inch of water in the bottom. It will add it's own juices to it. Same for the person doing pork chops. For flavor - herbs, spices, seasonings.

  • You can use a can of beef broth for the liquid. I also put the veggies on the bottom and the meat on top!
