  • My girls were 15 months and 18 months when they moved to their twin beds. They never had any issues with it.

  • We converted our son's crib to a toddler bed shortly after he turned 2. It took him a little to adjust to it--mostly at nap time, he was fine with it at bedtime. It took him a while to get over the novelty of the 'new' bed and takes naps again when he realized he could get up and walk around his room. He is almost 3 and he takes naps again most days, but occasionally skips sleeping (usually still has an hour of 'quiet time'). I don't think he was ready for us to do it any sooner, but depending on the crib sometimes you have to if you're afraid they'll get out. Our crib had a VERY low mattress and sleigh style sides, so it wasn't easy to climb before he was 2 (though he tried sometimes).

  • My ds of 23mo got a firetruck bed for Christmas. So he was 19mos. at the time :) Not sure if that's right for all but he adjusted wonderfully.
