  • well i know it's common for kids to pee in the potty way before they even attempt to poop...so i don't know if it could be a constipation problem...but if you say your son has it, then i'd go ask a doc

  • try an hour before you want him to poop to give him a small really small drink of prune juice and water. do only a small amount to a time so you don't get diahrea check his diaper and see if it is truly constipated first. Does he strain alot when he goes in his diaper? also if you put him on the same time you are on he will sit longer on the potty and try singing pop goes the weesel. When you say pop you grunt and he will get the idea. Most kids just don't want to sit and take the time.

  • My dd was the same way. In fact even when I would toss her poo into the toilet and flush she would cry. Our pediatrician said this is a common issue because children sometimes associate what they void as being a peice of their body. The way we ended up getting over it was continueing to flush the poo from her diaper down the toilet, sitting her on the toilet, and only using underwear. She held it for 3 days then ran and pooped on the toilet. She was so excited and shes been potting trained since. She is now 19 and potty training her own son who btw is also afraid to poop on the toilet.
