  • My daughter was 13 months when she started walking on her own more than a few steps at a time. She could take a few steps (like up to 10) starting around 10 months.

  • If they are standing and staggering by the age of two years that is normal. Anything earlier is a bonus. Talking may be delayed until the age of five years and that is still within normal range. Myself, I would be running to a speech therapist or psychologist, but actually late speech is remarkably common. My own babies were walking around ten months. Recognisable words began around the same time. My own mother vows and declares that I could recite nursery rhymes by 7 months, but I suspect she is deluding herself and everyone else.
