What can I safely give my 2 year old for a cough/sore throat?

  • tylenol or motrin is all I would give

  • make a game with her and teach her how to gargle salt water. even if she swallows it, it will be ok.

  • Tylenol or motrin plus taking her into a steamy bathroom should help as well as patting her back to help break up any mucous.
    You could also use vicks vapor rub at night to help quell the cough. If it seems like it's too strong on her chest, put it on her feet.

  • I know pepermint tea helps me with a sore throat so I think a pepermint candy (candy canes anyone) might help. It won't hurt.

  • Tea with honey & Sugar free cough drops cut one in 1/2 or you could just drop it in his tea.

  • I use baby vicks with the lavendar smell, a steam vaporizer at nights and then tylenol for the sore throat. Poor thing :(
