  • Hate? My advice is to get over it and hope that you and your family and grandchild are happy and healthy....much more important than a NAME. Sorry.

  • You accept the name the parent's have chosen and you call the child by the name the parent's prefer. You don't try to use a nickname to "change" the name to suit your liking, it is rude and the parent's of the child will become annoyed by you. In time, I'm sure you'll find that your grandchild's name fits her and you'll grow to like it. You may not like how it sounds, but it will come to represent her and you'll love that about it.

  • I get it pammom we grandmas are allowed to have opinions too. Some people dont seem to understand that these days though.

  • Respect their decision because it's their child. You had a chance to name your own children, now it's theirs.

  • Shirley Anne Irene is awful, I agree. But unfortunately it is their baby, their decision. You have to let it go, and be happy that the baby is just healthy...and the name could be much, much worse than that!
