Bcc on Email

How (and why)does someone who does not know you, or your email and may have gotten the email off your school's directory send an email Bcc (blind copy)?

  • Well I often send bcc when I mass email people so that I do not share my friends email addresses with others. Not sure why someone you don't know would be sending you an email, but it may have been as a bcc because they did the same thing as I do. When sent as a bcc the recipient cannot see the email adresses of all the others included thus affording them some privacy.
