What is the best way to teach toddler their A B C's?

My 2 1/2 year old can obviously say the letters but she doesn't recognize them and can't say the alphabet even just the first three. What is the best method that you have used to help them learn? Also, the numbers, she doesn't recognize them yet and hasn't been able to consistently count to 5 yet. Any advice ?

  • I asked this same question a month ago and got the best answer!  Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD!  It worked great!

  • We always used bath time as learning time! My son couldn't wait to take a bath! Crayola makes these bath tub crayons, and we used those things like crazy!! They wash over very easy, and the kids love them. Use them to draw numbers, and then ABS's. But do it one at a time.....and after a bit, I'm sure she will get it!! Good luck mom!!

  • Wal-Mart sells foam ABCs for the bath. We used that and Leap Frog.

  • I appreciate the fast answers everyone, I will try the Leapfrog and bath crayons, she doesn't have any sisters or brothers to pick it up from.
