What age to take toddler to dentist for the first time?

My daughter is 2 1/2 now, should I schedule an appointment for her first dental check up yet? Her teeth look healthy and she has a mouthful.

  • I would deffinately get her in... My sister worked at a dentist for a little while and she said they always recommended people bring their kids in to get them used to it. They don't usually do much at this appt, but its just to get them familiar with it. Also, just have her sit on your lap when they come in to look in her mouth, I'm sure she will love you being right there. But I know they deffinately recommend getting them in early!!

  • I brought my son in was he was 1 1/2.... but they said when they get their first teeth... she said lots of kids get tooth decay early because of bottles and drinking juice before night time.
