What is a hearty flower(other then mums--I am allergic) that would withstand all kinds of weather and not need alot of attention

  • Ask your local garden center Pro. What type of flowers you want that are hearty will greatly depend on where you live, WHERE you want to plant them and your soil conditions. Marigolds do well almost everywhere and you get to pick the tops for next years crop.

  • I miss Peony bushes - i don't think they grow down south where I am - grew up in the north and they are so pretty, fragrant and I never saw my mom do anything with them. Moss Rose (portulaca) is pretty easy to grow and low maintenance

  • Perennial day lillies....a gazillion different color combinations, just plant and forget about them! Every 5 years or so, you can divide them and get "free flowers" to plant elsewhere. :o)

  • Wild flowers. I just get wild flower seeds every year, sprinkle them around, and water them occasionally. They do well in sunny and shady areas, or a combination. I love the natural, unkept, and well... wild look of them.
