Did your periods ever go back to normal after pregnancy? adult content

Ever since I had my ds in April of '09 my periods have been borderline unbearable =/ Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I get it checked out?

  • Are you talking about schedule or your actual period and symptoms? My period was exactly the same as always after my first; after my second, I started having a period every month (very ABnormal for me). But flow, symptoms, etc., are still the same as pre-pregnancy. If it's the symptoms that are unbearable, like cramping, bloating, moodiness, etc., then definitely talk to a doctor. That's worth a check-up even if you hadn't had any hormonal changes.

  • Mine went back like clockwork. You should tell your OBGYN, you may need a D&C as a cleaning.

  • I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding since August of 05... So I haven't really had a chance for them to go back to normal yet... But no, they never went back to normal.

  • well before I had kids I use to bleed for 8 days straight and it would be heavy the first 3-4 days then get lighter until I was finished with sometimes really bad cramps or sometimes just cramps, but I had cramps every month. When I had my first dd I started having them for 5 days straight and the first 2 days were heavy the cramps were the same. Then I had my second dd and I didn't have any cramps after having her (shich I loved lol), but the thing I didn't love was I had a period that lasted 4 days (I loved that part), but it would be heavy for the whole time and I mean really heavy sometimes I bled through my clothes or going to take a bath the water would be brown from all the blood I am 5 months pregnant now so we will see how it goes after I have this baby lol

  • My periods have pretty much been normal since having children, although I went from having a 31 day cycle to a 29 or 30 day cycle. Everything else stayed the same.

  • Mine were NEVER normal and I am still amazed that I even had three kids!
They finally became regular (and not as heavy and painful) when I was about 45. From age 14 until I was 45 they were so irregular and so heavy it was no fun. EVery 5 or 6 months and then it was a major flood.
Your Doctor would know if there was anything wrong. DOn't worry abut it.
