What do you put in your burgers?

we're having another couple over for dinner tonight, and when the kids go to bed its time for the adults to play :) im excited! as parents of 3 and limited funds, we rarely do anything LOL. anyway i do not have a grill which sucks so i know the burgers won't be fantastic. but im hoping i can still make them taste good.

heres what im using:

a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground turkey, mixed together
bread crumbs
finely chopped white onion
garlic powder
salt & pepper

anything else i should add? unfortunately i dont have any BBQ sauce to add in there for flavor. i might have some A-1 steak sauce though so i might add a dash of that.

  • I find that using actual bread and not bread crumbs makes a much juicer burger. I use one slice (minus the crust) per half pound diced to about 1/2 inch cubes and massage it in. The way you are seasoning them sounds awesome!!

  • I always use wheat... So I guess it's okay! lol.

  • Sounds good to me ...

    Here's what I use:
    ~pound each beef and turkey
    ~egg (just one)
    ~bread crumbs
~finely or coarsely (depends on mood) diced onion
    ~fresh ground tri-color pepper
    ~splash of worcestershire sauce
    ~dash of liquid smoke

Other ingredients I've used to changed things up ... cream of mushroom soup (have to use a little extra bread/crackers), honey bbq sauce, real mushrooms (diced), shredded colby-jack or mozzarella cheese ...

  • unfortunately im out of onion soup mix. ive used that before though and i love it because it takes the time out of me having to chop them AND burning my eyeballs out.. LOL. i like the bread idea too, all i have is wheat though. sufficient enough?

  • I don't really add anything. I use really good ground beef and season with salt and pepper. For me it's all about the condiments and add ons. Tomatoes, cheese lettuce, salsa, etc.
