She won't eat or drink...what do I do?

Two days ago, my 2 year old had nasty diarrhea, and didn't have much of an appetite. Yesterday, she didn't have any diarrhea, but she still didn't eat much. Today, no diarrhea, but smelly gas and again, no appetite.

How do I help her to feel better? I suspect that she doesn't want to eat or drink because her tummy is bothering her...but how can someone go for days without eating much at all??

  • I think considering... it's normal but also I would definetly call your doctor. Just rule of thumb for diarrhea is to keep hydrated. Maybe give her formula....but I"d try just a little at first.

  • Keep her hydrated as said already......give gingerale, jello, popsicles. Give doctor a call if things don't improve soon.

  • Yep hydration is important, the human body can go 7 days without food only 3 without water. Now granted that's an adult, but scale it down to a child they still can go significantly longer without food then without water. Offer fun foods that are water based, as a PP wrote Jello, popsicles, ice cream. Not something to live off of regularly, but it'll also help with the dehydration while easing your mine about substance.
