  • The only problem I have ever had with the rabies shot was a lump forming where the shot was given. We had it surgically removed and sent for pathology.Came back that it was caused by the rabies vaccine. Now the vet gives my dogs their rabies in the muscle of the hind leg.No problems since.

  • My pets just want to nap for awhile after getting any vaccines (or going to the Vet's office) it's because my pets stress themselves out.

  • Vaccinations are a huge assault on the immune system! The Rabies shot is one of the worst to cause nasty side effects. From http://www.dogs4dogs.com/truth4dogs.html, side effects can be:

Immediately or up to 3 days after the shot:
    Vomiting
    Facial swelling
    Fever or lethargy
    Circulatory shock
    Loss of consciousness
    Death

Days, weeks or months after the shot:
Fibrosarcoma (cancer) at the injection site
    Seizures and Epilepsy
    Allergies
Autoimmune diseases, including organ disease, allergies and skin problems
    Chronic digestive problems
Muscle weakness, especially lack of hind end coordination
    Chronic digestive disorders
Skin diseases like Ischemic Dermatopathy / Cutaneous vasculitis
Behavior problems: aggression, destructive behaviors, separation anxiety and odd obsessive behaviors (like tail chasing and paw licking).
