We are going to finish the trim inside the house around the windows with the our tax refund. Just curious what everyone else is doing.

  • Bank it for retirement, and use some for vacation. We did really good this year.

  • We have two debts besides the house, our car and a loan payment on equipment for our business. We plan on paying both of them off. Which frees up about $600 a month for us

  • We don't get a refund. We get the priviledge of paying in huge amounts only to be told we owe more.

  • Ours is gone. DH had lost his job and just started a new one in June so we had back bills, bought a car for myself, fixed his, did a bday party for dd, DSi's for the boys & bills.

  • Ours has been here and is gone. Lol. But we got a new tv which we've wanted for years now. Paid a bunch of bills off, had to pay state taxes, bought some other little odds and ends, paid extra money on some current bills. Hopefully next year we will be able to save more of it since we really didn't this year.

  • Buy a van for my job, put 2 new tires on the car, pay off our body shop bill (for tires on our pickup), pay off our mechanic, and hopefully have enough left to buy a desktop computer and some clothes/shoes. And on the off chance there's any left after that, it'll go in savings.

  • Man we got and spent ours already months ago. Got our return in January and bought bunk beds for the girls with new mattresses. Bought a crib and mattress for the baby. Got some new jeans at the Goodwill for the kids (about $60 worth). Hubby got a drum set and keyboard for Rock Band 3. Paid off the $400 we owed the pediatrician. Paid off the overdue we had on our truck (we had some money issues when we moved last summer that caused us to get behind on a bunch of bills). Paid the next few months up on our car insurance to get it out of the way. And the rest we just spent on food, eating out, DVDs, stuff for the baby and anything else we felt like.
I have to actually amend our return later because we're still waiting for the SSN for our youngest. We should get another $1000 back which will go into savings for Christmas OR buy us a new mattress (we're sleeping on a camping air mattress right now).
