Is it time to take him to the hospital?

My 8 month old has been sick for almost a week and a half (runny nose, cough, fussy) I've tried to just tell myself its just him teething because i can see his tooth trying to come up. Im not sure maybe its allergys because that does run on my side of the family.

  • Even if it's allergies, they won't give you anything.
If your child has a fever, I'd take him to the doctor.

    If not, treat the symptoms.

  • I would call the ped, but I wouldn't go to the hospital for a runny nose.

  • It's probably teething. It lasts a long time. Until the teeth poke through. Then starts again for the next one.

  • No... there is no reason to go in for mild symptoms... ask yourself... what will they do for you? Nothing.
As long as she is drinking enough and not having any troubles breathing... just wait it out.

  • No fever, eating and drinking okay, no worries. Both my girls have allergies, and get like that during allergy season. Teething will do the same thing. As long as there is no fever and baby continues to eat/drink okay, there is no need for a hospital or er run.
