how can i stop having to pat my 5 month old's back to get him to sleep??

Every night and every nap..i have to pat his back to get him to sleep! It's pretty stressful to lay there with him for some times up to half an hour to put him to sleep..and YES he's def tired I'm not jumping the gun. PLEASE any advice if you've been through the same thing, to break this habit!

  • while you do this, start putting soft music on, and dim the lights in the room, pat his back less and less every nap time (start at 20 take off say... 5 minutes every 24 hours) but play the music every time the baby naps, eventually, the baby will just hear the music and fall asleep...
if it doesn't work, it was worth a try
