Can you think of a single thing

that is universal to ALL religions? This is sort of a s/o of that last question, but it gets tiring seeing people constantly refer to "religion" when they really mean "Christian" (much like the idea that anyone who isn't Christian is a non-believer). If it's really so easy to make statements about religion, what exactly are the universal qualities? They don't all have deities, some are only spiritual or focused on energy. They don't all have structures, some are only practiced in solitude. They don't even all have rules, persay. So what is the universal quality that allows them to all be grouped in together?

Wrong. Are you suggesting solitary Wiccans have to give money to themselves to be religious?

  • Religion is having a committed and powerful faith trust and love for a particular higher power, whether that higher power be self, nature or in one or more deities.

Thats the best I could do. I think all religions could agree on that.

  • Sorry Not panicking. Didnt think about solitary wiccans. I meant organized large religions with flocks of people who worship together.

  • I would think it would be they all believe in something, or someone. Not sure, though. Gonna be interesting to see the answers.

  • They all have morals or principles in the most general terms, maybe not written down or spelled out, but they are there. I'm not really certain about ALL religions, or maybe it's just a mankind thing. That's all I can come up with at the moment though.
