How much do you pay a babysitter?

I have a 3 year old and a 17 month old and I will be gone for about 7 hours to a Cardinal baseball game - it will be from 12-7pm.

  • We pay between $8 and $10 an hour for an experienced teenage sitter.

  • I pay $40/day for my two kids ages 4 and 7. I think its best to ask the sitter ahead of time so there are no surprises on either end. I also leave money to order food or ask what snacks they want.

  • It always depends with me if and for how long they will be watching. If you have them feed them and stay out past 12 midnight or it is an all day Saturday thing I think they should get more. Some babysitters will charge more and do nothing and others will let you decide.

  • I have always heard that it's $4.00 an hour per kid.

  • I do $2.50 an hour per child. I have 4 so $10 an hour. You can always ask them how much they charge.

  • I am very lucky! I only pay $10.00 per day for mine. If it were me, I would pay $30 for the night for 2 kids.

  • My baby sitter gets $2.50 an hour! I end up paying $175 for the week, since my son is in school full day. I always give her extra for food and drinks though.
