Creative entertainment w/out video games!

I'm proud to say we survived a house full of 3rd grade girls (full moon & all!) -lol The best part about the evening was that the girls found creative ways to have fun- like playing house, playing school, forming an impromptu band, etc. I was pleasently surprised that despite electronic choices (like the Wii) they prefered to play creatively! Can your children be entertained w/out being plugged in?

  • Most definitely! Sounds like the girls had lots of fun and you really enjoyed watching them enjoy themselves! Wish there were more moms like you that didn't just have kids over and "rent a movie"! :)

  • Absolutely!
We don't have video games here, lol.

It's important to not *try* to entertain, really.
Children who are used to being entertained will sometimes complain about being "bored" because they aren't used to using their imagination to come up with ways to self-entertain.
Let children find ways to entertain themselves and give them plenty of time to do this everyday without interruption.
So important for their brains and their souls!
