How long does it take for a Turkey to thaw out?

  • If it is solid frozen it can be a few days.

    If you are able to open the bag and re-seal it, try to take out all of the innards, it will help speed things up.

  • I'd say on average 24 to 48 hours... Perhaps longer if it VERY large or VERY frozen. I'd take it out today if I were you just to be on the safe side as we have no idea how big of a turkey you're talking about or how long it's been in the freeezer...

  • Anywhere from 2-5 days in the refrigerator, depending on size, temp of fridge, etc. You can also thaw in a cold water bath in anywhere from 4-8 hours.
