Do you think the "anonymous" are really people?

I've been wondering this for a few days so now I'll get your opinions.  Do you look at someone who posts anonymously the same as you do people who don't?  I found that I tend to dismiss anything coming from an anonymous.  Doesn't have to be something bad, just anything.  How freaking rude!  Okay, are you guilty of this?

  • Sure am and I don't feel bad about it either. If you are to chicken to own your words, you have very little credibility with me.

  • I won't answer sex questions under my own name, so I use the Anonymous button. Besides, you can't use the Anonymous button if you're a Newbie, so those who actually do use it have been around for some time.

    Respectfully I remain,

  • Yes, I sure am. I recognize quite a few of the names I see on here. When it's anonymous, I can never tell if someone is just trolling or not. Plus, I don't really get the fun in posting anonymous, so I don't get why some people do it.

  • there are perfectly reasonable times and topics when someone might be just more comfortable posting anonymously.

Answer by Satiblue at 1:12 AM on Mar. 21, 2011

  • I believe I can differentiate between anonymous people "Trolling" for an argument and those anonymous posters who have a legitimate question but are too _____(fill in the blank with any emotion)_____ to use their own user name. I'll just bypass those I feel are trolling, but I'll certainly stop to answer anonymous questions that have a legitimate feel...

  • No, I think they're aliens from another planet!!!

Actually, I'm with anon. It's no one's business about my sex life, so I answer those questions anonymously. Same applies to some other situations.

  • Anyway, there are only a few people I know on here, everyone else may as well be anonymous, so it doesn't make THAT much difference. In regards to topics that are very controversial, I like to be able to share my thoughts without it becoming a personal fight. I choose not to be rude, so I don't use the anon button to hide behind so I can be nasty.

Answer by Adelicious at 1:15 AM on Mar. 21, 2011

  • I think people post anon for different reasons, it doesn't bother me, i try to help either way. lately i think it has been happening more because people are being put down for questions they ask.

  • We're all pretty much anonymous anyways. It's not like LovingSahmommy is my real name, lol. No one I know offline even posts here, and if they did, it's very unlikely they'd recognize me.

Answer by LovingSAHMommy at 1:17 AM on Mar. 21, 2011

  • Well, rest assured. I guarantee you I am a real person. Whether or not you dismiss my opinion, it is a real one!
