Pink Eye!

My 20 month old has pink eye! My poor little baby. I am taking him to the doctor has soon as I send my daughter off to preschool. My question is what do you ladies recommend I do for him to help him? I have never dealt with this. I never had it growing up or knew anyone that had it. Hell i don't even know if he has pink eye. It is all red, swollen and very crusty and I just assumed. This has been hell of a week.....

  • The doctor will give you antibiotic eye drops that will help a lot. Also try a warm compress on the eye. And wash your hands well! Pink eye spreads like wildfire.

  • Yep sounds like pink eye. Clean off all there toys things they touch. Keep a close eye on the other child she will catch it.

  • We are treating pink eye right now. Clean each eye with a different warm wash cloth and wash your hands like crazy. Have LO wash hands all the time. The drops need to go on for a week even if it looks like it is gone.

  • lol, craftingmama is right, the doctors will give a prescription.. in the mean time, be really careful or you'll have your preschooler with a pink eye and mommy as well.. very contagious.

  • Make sure you use different and separate towels around your other daughter cause it is contagious. GL

  • Fill a spray bottle with half peroxide and half water. Peroxide kills more bacteria than bleach. Keep spraying counters, toilets, chairs, cabinets, everything they might touch. Get some anti-bacterial hand sanitizer. Use it constantly. The other ladies are right - it's HIGHLY contageous. Clean babies hands with the sanitizer, also.
