What kind of lotion or oil should I used to prevent stretch marks?

During my first pregnancy, I received stretch marks across my belly during 3rd trimester. There are so many out there and not sure which one would truly work the best.

  • You can' t avoid stretch marks. You can lessen the effect, but you can't stop them from happening.

  • Stretch marks are hereditary, you can not prevent them, all you can do is mitigate the impact. Vitamin E, cocoa butter, bio oil all work well. Personally, I prefer the cocoa butter.

  • BioOil lightened mine from my 1st pregnancy to the point they were/are barely noticeable but they weren't dark or deep to begin with. I didn't get any from my 2nd-5th pregnancies.

  • One is as good as another. Your DNA determines if you get them or not, and no amount of pricey lotion will keep you from getting them. To lessen the chance DO NOT gain more weight than the Dr says you should. If you pack on 100 lbs your going to have stretch marks no matter what lotion you use.

  • i do not believe stretch marks are genetic. you can make your skin healthier (more elastic) by consuming good fats from fish, nuts, avocados and olives. you can take flax seed oil and or fish oil. personally, i think this should be done daily before you ever get pregnant and then never stop : )
    healthy skin comes from within!!!
