  • Der Spiegel dates the photo as January 15, 2010. The commander in chief at that time is responsible.

That would be President Obama. His watch.

  • I think people need to understand that wars are super shitty and a lot of things happen that make most people cringe. If we don't want our soldiers engaging in de-humanizing behavior then we shouldn't put them in de-humanizing situations.

  • Obama's Watch... He needs to be held to the same standards as Bush... Now, I am sure someone will cry Bush 'plants' made these troop act barbarically, or something foolish like that... But the truth is, these were disgusting acts and need to be dealt with with severe punishment.

  • I agree Obama's watch. If Bush was held accountable for the same actions then Obama should also be.

  •  If Bush was held accountable

    When was he?

He brags in his book about authorizing torture and has yet to be held accountable

  • So....when that same kind of crap happened during the Vietnam War when Nixon was President, was it his fault too? When they raped the women in huts in Vietnam and shot and killed entire villages ,including children and took photos of it? That kind of hellish thing happens in ALL wars and the blaming of Obama is stretching it a whole lot.
Was Nixon there watching and letting it happen? NO.
Was Obama there, letting it happen? NO.
Blame their leaders,Company Leaders,Flight Commanders, etc. Blame the people who were THERE>

  • When was he?

If anything, Bush was held to scrutiny by the US/Foreign Press and public protests... WIll Obama be held to the same standards?  Time will tell and measure the "standards"
