Do you think that all of the social media, cell phones, computers, etc. has cut down on the time we spend with our children?

  • I believe computers have a huge factor on parenting now. Did you guys hear about the tragedy that took place while a mom was on Face Book? Her 18 month old drowned in the tub while she was chatting online. Her excuse? She thought he was independent, and he could handle being left alone in the tub. Me? I'm in here chatting with you all, but my little ones are in school, but the moment they come home, the computer goes off. It only take a second for them to get hurt.

  • I think as a whole yes it has but if you dont want that for your family then dont allow it. We love our computers & my 3yo of course loves her some tv but once the weather is nice they will just about be covered in dust. As soon as the weather is good enough we are outside from dawn to dusk simply playing. We play in the house too of course but we do get distracted I guess by technology more so then we do outdoors!

  • YES and it also cuts down on the time kids want to spend with us. My kids are not allowed to watch tv or computer during the school week. My kids think I am a dinosaur.
